Notes from the 12th Annual Run:
Pahrump, Nevada’s Diaper Run dates back to 2009 when J Mar Customs and friends banded together to create a motorcycle-themed benefit event that would primarily result in a stockpile of diapers and baby wipes.
Subsequently, that stockpile of diapers and wipes would be donated to First Choice Pregnancy Center, a non-profit charitable organization whose mission is to support women and families in the Nye County area by providing physical, emotional, spiritual and educational resources.
Diaper Run has changed very little since 2009. The goal for 2020 is the same. On September 19, 2020, First Choice Pregnancy Center will (hopefully!) be gifted with hundreds of packages of donated diapers and baby wipes.
This year we are asking for donations of diapers sizes 3, 4, or 5. As Nancy Erwin discusses in a recent interview by KPVM TV, First Choice Pregnancy Center has an overabundance of size 1 & 2 diapers.
‘Baby’ arrived as public domain clipart several years ago. Baby has become a sort of mascot at the Diaper Run website because it’s just a fun idea.
Adding to the family
In 2019 a new character was add to the cast — a little girl. She looks sweet but she has a slight edge to her temper. No other information is available.
She too needs a name! Maybe we’ll do a naming thing in 2020. Just like your bike, stay tuned.
